As an update to our previous communications regarding the U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) eBond electronic bond filing system, we are pleased to announce that C.A. Shea successfully began transmitting and filing eBonds effective January 4, 2015 and was among the first filers to do so upon access to the live deployment of eBond. Our office received confirmation of bond acceptance within 30 seconds after the initial transmission! eBond will streamline the bond filing process and allow for confirmation of bond acceptance in minutes rather than days in comparison to the filing of paper bonds. The announcement and deployment of eBond by CBP is the culmination of over 25 years of effort and communication between bond filers, CBP and the trade to make eBond a reality. We are proud to say we have worked closely with CBP in every facet of the planning and implementation since inception.
